Mark Harrison

Born and raised in the south-west of England, Mark Harrison attended The University of Manchester, graduating with a BA(Hons) in Hispanic Studies, and went on to The University of Leeds gaining an MA in Screen Translation.

He began his professional subtitling career with Voice & Script International Ltd. in London working alongside the German department for music and entertainment TV clients and translations for UK film distributors.

This led him to Technicolor Creative Services UK where he co-ordinated the English subtitling department working on Hollywood, music and art house projects (subtitling for the hard of hearing, closed captioning, templates) and into-English translation projects for both cinema and DVD.

Mark joined MTV UK & Ireland in 2007 as Access Services Supervisor. This role covers the co-ordination and production of all teletext subtitling for the hard of hearing audience, BSL-interpreted content and audio description for the visually impaired audience, working with a small team of both in-house and freelance staff and covering 9 UK channels.

Mark is also a visiting lecturer on the MA Audiovisual Translation at Roehampton University.
