Sofía Sánchez-Mompeán holds a BA in Translation and Interpreting and a MA in Audiovisual Translation from the University of Roehampton (UK), where she was awarded the Gerhard Weiler Prize for her research on dubbing. She is currently conducting her PhD on the rendition of intonation in dubbed dialogue at the University of Murcia (Spain), where she teaches Specialised Translation. She also obtained the Outstanding Student Award in Translation Studies both at Murcia and at the Spanish National Level. She is the Social Network Manager for JoSTrans (The Journal of Specialised Translation) and a member of the research group of Applied Linguistics at the University of Murcia. In 2014 she was a guest lecturer at the University of Roehampton (UK). Her research interests include the interplay of dubbing, translation and prosodic features, particularly, intonation.
