Carlo Eugeni graduated in Conference Interpreting and Translation at the SSLMIT of the University of Bologna. He is Philosophy Doctor in English for Special Purposes with a thesis on live subtitling by means of speech recognition technology. He teaches Subtitling for the Deaf and the Hard-of-Hearing at the on-line Master on Audiovisual Translation at the University of Parma. He is the organiser of the biennial international conference on real time subtitling and chairman of the Scientific Committee of the International Federation of real-time reporters INTERSTENO. In 2016, he co-founded the International Journal on Linguistic and Cultural Mediation CoMe. As a freelancer he is a simultaneous interpreter, respeaker and trainer of respeakers and reporters.
