Rescheduling Languages & the Media 2020 – FAQs
We were advised to reschedule Languages & the Media 2020 to December 14 – 16, 2020 due to the COVID-19 outbreak. Our main concerns are the health and welfare of our community, the increasing risk assessment regarding the spread of the COVID-19, and the travel restrictions that are changing daily that may lead up to June of this year.
When and where will Languages & the Media 2020 take place?
Languages & the Media 2020 has been rescheduled to December 14 – 16. The venue, Hotel Radisson Blu in Berlin, remains unchanged.
What happens to my registration?
Your registration will automatically be transferred to the new dates and we guarantee our Terms & Conditions which you agreed to when you registered. We hope that you will be able to join us at the conference on December 14 – 16. If you cannot participate in December, please let us know by 23.03.2020 and we will refund you minus any bank expenses that were incurred. After 23.03.2020, the usual Terms & Conditions apply. Transfer of your registration to another person is permitted. Please contact email@example.com with the new delegate details.

Will my hotel room reservation be refunded?
The responsibility for hotel room reservations and refunds falls outside the scope of Language & the Media, and will depend on the type of fare booked and your travel insurance coverage. Please get in touch with your travel agent/hotel.
Will my airfare be refunded?
The responsibility for airfare bookings and refunds falls outside the scope of Languages & the Media, and will depend on the type of fare booked and your travel insurance coverage. Please get in touch with your travel agent/airline.
Sponsors and Exhibitors
I am an exhibitor and/or sponsor - what happens to my booking?
We understand that rescheduling Languages & the Media may affect your plans and we are committed to ensuring a smooth and efficient transition to the new event dates. Your sponsorship/exhibition booking application will automatically be transferred to the new dates and we guarantee our Terms & Conditions as well as any commitments we made such as the place on the floorplan you requested when you booked and as had been confirmed for June. If you decide to cancel your booth booking/sponsorship and let us know by 23.03.2020, at no cost. After 23.03.2020, the usual Terms & Conditions apply. If you decide later to rejoin Languages & the Media, we will not be able to guarantee the same location on the floor plan and/or sponsorship package. I am a partner - what happens to our agreement?
All partnership agreements will continue as previously confirmed unless the partner wishes to cancel their agreement.
I am a confirmed speaker and still want to present. Will I have to resubmit my presentation, workshop or poster proposal?
You won’t have to resubmit your proposal. We hope that you will still be able to present and we will reserve your spot in the programme. If you have already registered we will just transfer your registration.
I cannot present in December. What happens?
If you would like to withdraw your presentation or are not sure if you will be able to join us in December 2020, please contact firstname.lastname@example.org as soon as possible.
